STUDENT LEADERSHIP 2020-2021

ANDREW HELMIN '21

Chieftain / Sr. Drum Major

Andrew Helmin is a senior in the Corps of Cadets program assigned to Headquarters Company S-1 Personnel Section. He is the S-1 Regimental LEAP Officer In Charge and will be earning is Bachelors of Science in Environmental Policy in May 2021. He is active on-campus in the Norwich University Pipes & Drums, US Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program, and Knights of Columbus. He plans to commission as an Ensign in the United States Coast Guard in July 2021.

DYLON SANDSTROM '22

Pipe Major

Dylon Sandstrom is a current junior in the Corps of Cadets program and is working on his Degree in Criminal Justice. He is active on-campus as the Pipe Major for the Norwich University Pipes & Drums. He is contracted with the United States Marine Corps and plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2022.

PATRICK DARBY '23

Pipe Sergeant

Patrick Darby is a current sophomore in the Corps of Cadets program and is assigned to Alpha Company as an Assistant Squad Leader. He is currently working on his Degree in History. He is contracted with the United States Army and plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2023. He is active with the Norwich University Pipes & Drums with 9 years under his belt in the piping world.

NATALIE WHITE '23

Pipe Corporal

Natalie White is a sophomore in the Corps of Cadets program and is assigned to Provisional Battalion Staff as a Corporal, a current tab holder with NU Drill Company, and is working on her degree in Studies in War and & Peace and Political Science. She is active on-campus as a member of the NU Women's Rugby Team and the Norwich University Pipes & Drums as the Pipe Corporal (Candidate Training Staff). She is contracted with the United States Marine Corps and plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2023.

EVON HOUSER '21

Drum Major

Evon Houser is a senior in the Corps of Cadets program assigned to Provisional Battalion's Cavalry Troop as their Troops Executive Officer and will be earning her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in May 2021. She is active on-campus with the Cavalry Troop and the Norwich University Pipes and Drums. She plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in May 2021 and will be happily married in July 2021.

BROOKE STAFFORD '21

Senior Drummer

Brooke Stafford is a senior in the Corps of Cadets assigned to Headquarters Company's Athletic Liaison Officer (ALO) as a Platoon Leader and will be earning her Bachelors of Science in Biology in May 2021. She is active on-campus as a student-athlete with the NU Women's Rugby Team and the Norwich University Pipes and Drums as the senior drummer. She is contracted with the United States Army and plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2021.

TIMMOTHY POWELL '23

Drum Sergeant

Timmothy Powell is a current sophomore and is assigned to Provisional Battalions Cavalry Troop as part of the Troops Training Staff and is working on his degree. He is active on campus with the Cavalry Troop, Unify Club, and the Norwich University Pipes and Drums drumline with 5 years prior experience. He is contracted with the United States Army and pans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2023.

MICHAELA HARTZ '23

Drum Corporal

Michaela Hartz is a current sophomore in the Corps of Cadets assigned to Headquarters Company Regimental Staff as the Regimental Runner and currently working on her Degree in Criminal Justice. She is active on-campus with the Norwich University Pipes & Drums as the Drum Corporal (Candidate Training Staff). She is contracted with the United States Army and plans to commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2023.

SHAWN MATTHEWS '22

Sergeant of Arms

Shawn is a current sophomore (Academic Senior Standing) in the Corps of Cadets program assigned to the Regimental Bands Drumline and is working on his Degree in Environmental Science. He is active on-campus in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program, Knights of Columbus, and the Norwich University Pipes and Drums. He plans to attend Law School after he graduates in May 2022.

MIRANDA STURGEON '23

Supply Officer (Quartermaster)

Miranda is a current sophomore civilian student at Norwich university working on her Degree in Criminal Justice. She is active on-campus with the Norwich University Pipes and Drums as the Quartermaster & Supply Clerk. She is expected to graduate in May 2023.

SAGE FORD '22

Public Affairs & Alumni Relations Officer

Sage is a current junior civilian student at Norwich University working on her Degree in International Business. She is active on-campus with the Norwich University Scouting Association and the Norwich University Pipes and Drums as the Public Affairs and Digital Media Officer. She is  looking forward to working as a FBI Agent and is expected to graduate in May 2022.
